Udayan Ghar Jaipur

In Jaipur a group of dedicated group decided to set up a centre of Udayan Care for girls. Motivated by the desire to give the unwanted and abandoned children a loving and caring home environment. The commitment is to mentor and nurture these girls, and help them grow into confident human beings, ready to take on the challenges that life may throw up. This home for girls is located in Nandpuri in Jaipur, an area in the heart of the city. Located in a peaceful residential colony, the two-storey home is well furnished and specially designed to take care of a small family of 14-16 girls. The home also has a small garden area for the children to play, and the office is located on the same premises.
The caregivers Nargis and Mangala are abandoned girls who were given shelter in Government run homes. With the view of giving them experiential and employment opportunities, we have engaged them in the Home as caregivers.
The girls are referred to us by the Children Welfare Committee. It was with great delight that we welcomed our first girls, Ritu and Priya in January 2010. Since then every new addition to our family has been a celebration. We are now a family with seven girls. The home which can house up to 14 children (girls) resounds with the laughter of seven little girls. As each of the girls, even though still a child, come with a certain exposure and experience, every day is a challenge for the mentors, which they face with love and care.
